Video Gaming: Game Design

This class is all about giving students a big picture of the game development industry with its many roles and skillsets. The course starts with brainstorming a game, keeping one's mind open to creativity, exploration, and innovation. This brainstorm will be refined into an art style, established game mechanics and game rules. Characters, enemies, abilities, and props will be animated and imported into a game engine. These assets will then be made to work in the game engine and the game rules using simple visual scripting. Finally based on their own game concept a classic box art will be created celebrating a specific era of gaming.
