Long Form Improvisation





Using the basic rules of engagement of improvised comedy and drama, you will work together as an acting ensemble to create a story world and characters that together make up “The Harold,” a classic long form improv technique. You will present a live performance or taped experts from “The Harold” that your group creates!


Course Syllabus

As a result of successfully completing this course, students...

Will be able to:

  • Create an original character that is part of a larger story.
  • Perform an improvised, long-form story.
  • Apply key rules and techniques of improvisation working together with fellow actors.

Will display the following attitudes/professional behaviors:

  • Meet deadlines.
  • Come prepared at all times.
  • Discuss work using specific and appropriate terminology.
  • Contribute to class discussion and critique.
