Exploring Animation





A survey of animation techniques, with each module covering a different area of animation. The presentations and discussions will include visual examples of the topic and will explore the principles of animation that will be covered in the activity. Activities will have participants coming away with a new animated scene (storyboard in the first week) every week. Some scenes are individually done while others are done in teams.


Course Syllabus

As a result of successfully completing this course, students...

Will be able to:

  • Become familiar with the tools of animation which includes camera, rigs, and software.
  • Create a set of Animated scenes in a variety of mediums.
  • Learn and apply the basic principles of animation.

Will display the following attitudes/professional behaviors:

  • Meet deadlines.
  • Come prepared at all times.
  • Discuss work using specific and appropriate terminology.
  • Contribute to class discussion and critique.
