In this course, you’ll explore the technical and creative aspects of photography. You’ll learn how to operate a digital camera, make proper exposures, and see the qualities of light and shadow.


Course Syllabus

As a result of successfully completing this course, students...

Will be able to:

  • Understand how photography works and establish a relationship between visual imagination and photographic reality.
  • Make successful photographic exposures.
  • See qualities of light and shadow and the relationship between the two.
  • Demonstrate an analytical eye for framing and composition.

Will display the following attitudes/professional behaviors:

  • Meet assigned deadlines.
  • Accept and apply critiques.
  • Analyze and discuss work using industry specific terminology.
  • Prepare for and contribute to class discussions and critiques.
